An Update on Metadata Ethics

The Legal Ethics Forum blog has just posted an update on the world of legal ethics metadata opinions.   

For those unfamiliar with the issue, the general question is whether it is ethical for a lawyer to examine the metadata contained in electronic documents and files received from your opposing counsel.   

Notably, it appears many, if not most, states that have examined the issue have determined that it is NOT appropriate to look at metadata.
